Participation in this survey is voluntary.
What data is collected from me and how is it used?
We will be asking for your experiences of and perspectives on group discussions related to environment or land-use, and technology used to facilitate such discussions.
Your responses will be anonymous. All results will be presented in the form of overall statistics, with no identifying data made public. We will ask for your postcode to understand the general geographic distribution of responses.
If you would like to be contacted regarding further studies and updates on the project, you can provide contact details and we will keep your contact information for further communication. Your contact information and your responses will be stored separately, and there will be no way to link your data to you personally.
We ensure that any data we collect will be stored securely. Only the main researchers and members of the ETH Zurich Ethics Commission may access the original data for examination purposes. Strict confidentiality will be observed at all times. Stored data will be kept for a total of 5 years. The analysed data might be published in scientific journals or conference proceedings, but will be anonymised and no personal information will be disclosed.
What are my rights to my data?
The survey is anonymous, with no identifying information and no way to connect the data with an individual. If you have provided any identifying information in the open answer sections, you can request that it be rectified, handed over to you, barred for processing, or erased. If you have any questions regarding your data, please contact the person indicated above. This study complies with the UK's Data Protection Act 2018.
Who funds this study?
The research is funded by the Ecosystem Management group at ETH Zurich.
What risks and benefits can I expect?
Any data collected for this study will be anonymised. Any contact details provided will be stored separately and cannot be linked to your responses. No identifying information will be disclosed. There will be no foreseeable disadvantage or risk for taking part.
The tools we propose aim to make participation easier while enhancing transparency and clarity for stakeholders. They may also help participants better understand complex issues, support more informed decision making, improve communication between stakeholders, and create more inclusive and balanced discussions.
